Product FAQs
Is it safe for children to use?

Notes:Children must assemble under the guidance of adults in case of swallowing.

Which battery type to use

2 pcs of AAA

What kind of glue to use

We recommend using white latex or alcohol glue.

Hello, I bought this and the lights do not work. Any ideas?

1. Check to ensure the AAA batteries are charged and you have placed the batteries at right directions. Then make sure the battery switch is at the ‘ON’ position.
2. Check to see the LED light and the wires are complete and not broken.
3. Check the touch mother board is complete and not broken:see the electric component parts embedded on are full and welded firmly. Make sure that the wires are connected accurately.Red wires are connected to Positive electrode, black wires are connected to Negative electrode.
4. Check the same color wires are connected firmly

How long does it stay on with the touchlight ? Will itturn off itself?

The light in the book nook kit will be on if you press the switch. It will turn off if you press it again. Unless the batteries run out,it will not turn off itself.

Impressively designed, lots of 3D elements

I was pleasantly surprised by how many of the buildings were built out in 3D. I'd thought a lot of it would be facades like in a pop-up book, but the major elements like buildings, tower, bridge, and even a couple of light up acrylic elements are built into 3D objects. The acrylic light up elements also give it a really cool look with all the RGB leds that cycle through lots of colors. The Ferris wheel as the central element (and the only moving element) was especially well set up with two up firing led lights, which if you align them well will cause light beams to sweep across the surface as it rotates. This version is electronic which means you lose the mechanical music box in lieu of a speaker, but it has a mode that just runs the lights and motor without the music which I find better for displaying anyway. They even took the care to plan cable runs for the wires so nothing would inadvertently get in the way of the leds.

The mdf and acrylic panels are cut to really tight tolerances. I was really surprised that most pieces were snapping together with a click like they were legos. Some were tight enough that it needed a bit of wiggling back and forth to get the tab seated. Nothing was too loose. It comes with some sandpaper to adjust things but I never needed it except to file the nubs off from the sprues holding the pieces to the panels. I'd recommend also getting a needle or nail file to clean up the nubs which aren't on the outside edges. It'll really help things seat fully without gaps.

Overall very impressed by this and it was a lot more interesting to put together than I expected. You do need to be very careful as there's lots of small parts which can be broken if you're too forceful trying to get something to fit. They do include a bunch of extras for pieces which are fragile on the extra space on the panels, but I didn't need to use any of them just being really careful during the assembly. Makes you feel like a model maker without all the work of making the pieces and painting. Probably not recommended for kids unless they're already interested in doing these kinds of delicate tasks. You do need to be pretty meticulous reading the instructions in order for everything to go together properly.

I recommend only snapping the pieces that you need out of the panels right as you need them as they can be easy to lose or mix up (the piece numbering is on the panels as a lot of pieces having printing on both sides. Also have some packing tape (or other wide low residue tape) on hand to help you remove the protective film from the acrylic pieces. Because the etching cuts through the film on that side, you end up with tons of tiny pieces of film to remove (especially on the Ferris wheel) that would take forever to do by hand (and risk scratching up the acrylic). Instead just firmly secure a piece of tape over it and use that to pull all the tiny pieces of film off at once.

Snow World Wooden Music Box Puzzle

Sandpaper, tiny screwdriver and glue stick(yay!) included
I like that the backup pieces are identified in the instructions. Keep in mind you have to remove sheeting from both sides of any acrylic parts, and peeling from the etched side of some of the parts (particularly the Ferris wheel) can be laborious.
I had to remove the two pieces that the left hand light sits on behind the wheel because it impeded the wheel in turning. Overall, this was a fun build that wasnt too difficult or too easy. Happy with the results!
