The instructions were a little confusing. I enjoyed the challenge. I would do it again.

This is absolutely lovely. It was my first kit with gears. They went together really easily. Everything fitted in place as it should, the wiring was easy to handle, just need to follow the instructions step by step. A lot of people seemed confused about the magnets because it says you have to identify north and south. No you don't, take a small magnet and a large magnet, they will join together naturally. Colour the outside of each in a different colour leaving the two attached sides blank. Fit the small magnet downwards with the coloured side up and fit the large magnet into the gears with the coloured side facing down, the two non coloured will then join when you place the skaters on the rink and will work perfectly. I kept each set of magnets seperate in little plastic boxes so they didn't keep trying to join up with each other.

The kit comes with two scenes so you can make this a regular winter scene, or there are several Christmas accessories so you can add to make this a Christmas scene.

It's a good size with plenty of space for personalization if you want.

Highly recommend this, even as a beginner, provided you follow the instructions you will end up with a beautiful build.

Well worth the $. Sturdy, good directions, and fun to do. I added small cats for more fun.

I am a HUGE fan of the Tonecheer line of 3d puzzles. Prior to this, I had already built a few from this company and as I write this review I have a queue of about 5 more of theirs on my craft table waiting to be built. This company is meticulous in the quality of the products they put out. When I saw Onsen Saga with its hidden compartments I had to have it. Since it's not a book nook and not a music box or sound machine I was very curious how it would come together.

It's FABULOUS. As usual the build was relaxing and satisfying. Very detailed and the pieces clicked together no problem. The directions were clear and easy to follow. I'm a bit obsessive with my builds so I will often add a little crazy glue to pieces that seem possibly vulnerable to wear and tear. I had difficulty getting one of the drawers to operate on the track so I filed it down a bit and now it works easily.

What I particularly love is all the little details. It's like there's an aha moment everywhere you look. There is no empty space on this anywhere. And then, oddly, you can pull out the front piece and this becomes a cell phone holder. I have no idea why but hey, the whole thing is quirky and entertaining. I like that you simply have to wave your hand over the top and the top box opens and the light goes on. It's these little enhancements that just makes this a special build.
Tonecheer keeps amazing me. Can't wait to see what they come up with next.

Didn't mind to add the worry free service as I knew my tonecheer order comes from far away. It was a small amount to pay for peace of mind.

Not only is the finished product beautiful, the materials and instructions are unmatched! All components are very easy to test for functionality, the instructions are some of the best I’ve ever seen; they use numbers and colors to identify parts of pieces to minimize confusion, and so much thought was put into each detail. This company is absolutely one of the best! This kit came with everything needed to complete it and the colors are so vibrant and rich!

It takes some time but the result is absolutely worth it! It works perfectly well, just as described!
